Applications are now being accepted for positions on the Seneca Township planning commission.

Those interested in participating in the future of Seneca Township are asked to send or deliver their applications, or letter of intent to apply, to: Supervisor James Kagel, 16506 Garden Valley Road, Woodstock, IL 60098 by 5:00 P.M September 1, 2010.  Arrangements will be made with you as to a time to meet for an interview.

The application could be in the form of a "letter of intent to apply” and should include information describing your personal background and experience.  To be considered for appointment to this commission you must own property in the township, must live in the township, and must be a registered voter in Seneca Township.

This commission’s task is to review the current township Land Use Plan and to address requests for various zoning changes to properties within the township.  The Planning Commission generally meets once a month at the Seneca Township Building located at 16506 Garden Valley Rd. Woodstock.  This is a volunteer position.

The Seneca Township Board of Trustees hope to appoint the new members to their Township Planning Commission during their next regular monthly meeting on September 14, 2010.

Questions may be directed to Supervisor James Kagel at 815-923-2288.

September 14, 2010 is the next REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING of the Seneca Township Board of Trustees. The meeting begins at 7:00 p.m. at the Seneca Township Building located at 16506 Garden Valley Rd. - Woodstock, IL.   The public is always encouraged to attend. This is an excellent way to find out what is happening in "your backyard". During the Regluar Monthly meeting, time is scheduled for Public Speaking. This is your time to present to the Board any issues or concerns that you would like them to address. The agenda for this meeting will be posted approximately 48 hours prior to the meeting.
NOTE: In order for the Board of Trustees to, by law, be able to discuss with you or act on an issue you present, you must ask to be put on the agenda for the meeting. The deadline for your issue to be put on the agenda is the Friday before the meeting. We also would need to know the topic/issue you want to discuss. If you are not on the agenda, the Board could only listen to what you have to say. They cannot act on it during the Public Speaking section of the meeting. Contact Township Clerk Dawn Seemann or Supervisor James Kagel for more information.
